Continued Professional Development (CPD) - for the driving instruction industry Directions Driver Training can offer a variety of training and supervision that you can use to keep your skills as a trainer up to date and make sure you are delivering value for money lessons to your students. We now offer Fleet training to ADI's and will guide you through the process of becoming a DSA registered Fleet Trainer. Please contact us for more details. The Government's road safety strategy, publication, "Tomorrow's Roads - Safer for Everyone", sets out the Government's plans to improve road safety up to 2010. The contribution of skilled and motivated driving instructors is central to delivering higher driving standards. The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is committed to raising the quality and expertise of all driving instructors. The majority of Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) are aware of the recommendation, in the Ross Silcock report on the way ADIs are trained and tested, that there should be a programme of CPD within the driving instructor industry. 5S Consulting Ltd have been commissioned to work with the DSA, along with driving instruction practitioners to develop a continuing professional development programme for the industry. DSA will keep the industry informed of any developments in the programme.
